Did you know that gum disease is one of the most common and serious oral conditions that often goes unnoticed?

To address this, the month of February is dedicated to raising awareness to gum disease.

In short, it can be described as an infection of the gums that affects the soft tissue due to an accumulation of plaque and bacteria.

And it has been reported that people who regularly consume dairy products are less likely to suffer from gum disease.

Why?

Because this type of food contains calcium among other which helps replenish minerals that our teeth might have lost. Moreover, they help rebulding tooth enamel and reduce acid levels which fights tooth decay.

That means, if you're a cheese lover, chances are gum disease isn't one of your problems!
